"We have been using our Concourse software for a little over a year and
I wanted to let you know how very satisfied we are with the program and
how very easily my staff members learned to use it. It is very intuitive and
quite comprehensive. ... Our technician commented a few days ago that this is a
surprisingly trouble free program. ... All the contacts we have had with you and
your staff were very positive."

Concourse is Book Systems' proven library automation software for the
Windows environment, including VISTA. Librarians and Media Specialists have contributed
ideas making it feature rich.
Our programmers take those ideas and
continue to make Concourse easy-to-use. Concourse allows for easy
navigation using an icon flowchart on the Navigator screen, menu options,
or keyboard shortcuts to perform functions.
Windows-based Integrated Library Automation System
Any Windows-based library automation program that you choose should be:
- Easy-to-use with context-sensitive help
- Intuitive of what you expect it to do
- Meet or exceed your needs
- Well supported
Concourse meets these criteria. Librarians everywhere agree that
Concourse is feature rich. Take a look at how your library can be automated
quickly, saving both time and money. A free demonstration
kit is available upon request.
Circulation and Cataloging
Concourse ensures that performing circulation functions such as checking
items in and out, reserving materials, and adding or editing patron records,
is quick and accurate. It allows you to create overdue, fine, and reserve
notices which can be printed for mailing, sent to patrons via e-mail, or both.
Cataloging with Concourse is simple and straightforward. You can add and
edit item records quickly, create and import MARC records automatically,
classify using the Dewey Decimal System or Library of Congress
Classification, and define keyboard shortcuts to move between functions.
Concourse is also capable of printing catalog cards and labels (spine,
pocket, bookplate, and barcode).
Customizable Reports
Create unique reports fast. Concourse allows you to view or print numerous
reports that are pre-configured for your convenience, such as Shelf List and
Accession List.
|
 |
It only takes one or two mouse clicks to view or print these.
Many of the twenty-two pre-configured reports may be modified (adding
or removing columns of data) to specify what you need to see or want to
emphasize in a printed report. The appearance of reports may be enhanced
further by formatting (bold, italic, font size, etc.). Concourse provides
versatility with built-in report graphing without having to export data to
another program.
Filters allow you to get just the information you want. Then you can
arrange, sort, preview, and print the data. Additionally, templates may be
saved for future printing with dynamic update of the report data. Concourse
also offers an exclusive 'Drill Down' feature that displays supporting data
from an executive report summary and allows you to edit an individual
record directly from the report.
